Acceptd is Disrupting the Admissions Process
Acceptd is a sweet web-based tool that simplifies the video application process for university programs. Uploading and managing application videos, audition tapes and highlight film using Acceptd will streamline the process and save time and money for both applicants and program directors. Yes!
Our team will lead the way on an emerging trend within college admissions. Recent articles have been published showing that more colleges are accepting “video essays” in place of written essays (in effort to appeal to the YouTube generation). We look to brand this process and provide an easy solution for management of these videos.
For programs that are already accepting videos like sports and performing arts, the current method consists of managing stacks of DVDs and random video links. Ouch! Both methods are impractical when trying to manage hundreds and even thousands of video submissions. Not only do they have to manage these videos, decision-makers still have to find time to collaborate and discuss candidates. We will solve this problem by providing a convenient, one-stop solution to view and rate video submissions, as well as provide real-time commenting to collaborate with fellow decision-makers.
This is a win for students too. They will be able to connect using Facebook to see where their friends are applying. They can upload and submit all of their videos in one safe place, as opposed to burning and sending out DVDs to each school. Acceptd will provide notification to students (via email or text message) when their video has been received, viewed and commented on by each program.
Acceptd plans to launch Beta this fall with local universities. Watch out! It’s going to be beautiful.
