All Decked Out

Outdoor living has become the way of life for many families in the US; the problem with decks is they have not lived up to their maintenance free claims.

Tile as a flooring medium has been used for a very long time, the problem has been how to tile in all 50 States as a standard procedure outside. During 2005 we started to test a product for use on a standard joist system for decks and inside the home.
TI-ProBoard is a pultruded structural product that is only 3/8” high and it is the only underlayment used for a tiling job inside or outside.
It allows decks to be tiled without the danger of it failing due to weather.

TI-ProBoard is a structural product that sits directly on a standard joist system 16" on center. It is lightweight only 1.1lbs per sq ft. but with a live load rating of 2600 lbs per sq ft.
TileDIY (Deck Installation systems) and TI-ProBoard has the support of every tile setting material manufacturer in the US. This recognition amongst all these companies is paramount to the success of every deck installed. The combination of TI-ProBoard and the setting materials is a match. Before when decks were tiled, plywood was the base material and over a period of time water would be absorbed by the plywood and the tile would come loose. TI-ProBoard is a pultruded product with a composite base and fiberglass that is impervious to all types of weather conditions.
With the problem solved of tiling outdoors we have gained national distribution with The Home Depot, DAL tile and many regional distributors. The new and replacement market for decks of all types is valued at around $900,000,000. In five years we would expect to capture 5% of the market, through our distribution channels.
