Cincinnati Coworks - Community, Collaboration
Are you sick of working in Panera and Starbucks? Cincinnati needs a dedicated, creative - and cool - coworking space of its own.
What is a coworking space? It allows independent consultants, freelancers, telecommuters, and small businesses to get out of the house and see other humans. It allows independents to leave work at the "office" without having one. It allows independents to get out of the house without having to go anywhere that sells coffee (though our coworking office will have coffee!). It is about cooperation, community, and networking, while still getting focused work done.
Less importantly, it is a space that allows independents to permanently rent a desk or just drop in for the day. Members have access to things office workers take for granted such as internet, fax/copier/printer/scanner, shipping services, conference rooms, a kitchen, and more.
Our space will have daily, monthly, and yearly rates. Seed money will go first and foremost towards securing a space. Decorating and furnishing the space will be minimal at first, while we test demand.
The video to the left is a video from http://www.officenomads.com, a coworking space in Seattle, Washington. It gives a good feel for the progress we have in mind.

With as many independent consultants and creatives buzzing around Cincinnati, it is a shame and a surprise there is not an affordable, dedicated co-working space in this city already.
